O lună în care am fost foarte ocupat, cu doar o carte “serioasă” și două ebooks mai mici.

Guy-Philippe Goldstein – Babel Minute Zéro. The unexplained murder of a Chinese journalist in broad daylight during a pro-democracy riot has the country on the brink of civil war. The secretary general of the Communist party calls for martial law, escalating the violence, and opening the door to a power grab by the elegant and progressive Prime Minister Hu Ronglian. Ronglian suggests accusing Taiwan of plotting the journalist’s death, at once justifying military action, and drawing a mystified United States into negotiations. Meanwhile, the beautiful CIA operative Julia Tod-Smith has been assigned the task of uncovering the secret behind a mysterious and suspicious Siberian web domain. To begin with she must find out more about a certain elderly German man named Alberich whose name has just turned up at a hospital in Berlin. A diplomatic puzzle reminiscent of the works of Robert Littell, putting to play the rivalry between China and the United States in a high-stakes high-tech world.

Comentariul meu: Excelentă cartea! Este cred prima carte din genul “thriller politic” și poate din cauza asta mi-a plăcut așa mult. Autorul s-a documentat extrem de mult, cartea este plină de amănunte și date istorice foarte precise. Stilul este captivant, nu-ți vine să o lași din mână. Deși este vorba despre ficțiune, evenimentele din carte sunt înspăimântător de probabile.

Leo Babauta – Zen to Done. Zen To Done takes some of the best aspects of a few popular productivity systems (GTD, Stephen Covey and others) and combines them with the mandate of simplicity. It makes things as simple as possible, and no more.

Comentariul meu: Interesantă de citit. ZTD nu este un sistem revoluționar, iar în carte nu scrie nimic în plus față de blog-ul lui Leo, dar informația este foarte bine structurată, cu insstrucțiuni ușor de urmat și cu exemple. La 10 dolari e foarte multa valoare pentru cine vrea să învețe să devină mai productiv.

Comentariul meu: Nimic fantastic, dar m-a ajutat să am un “start lansat” în twitărelă, experimentul pe care îl fac luna asta. E scurtă și merită citită de cine vrea să afle rapid ce este Twitter și cu ce se mănâncă.
